Data-driven decisionmaking as a foundation for creating services and products: end-to-end, front to back, for all channels
Over 20 years’ experience of developing customer-focussed services and solutions to meet business needs.
Case Study: Complex Software UX and UI Development
This greenfield project involved managing workshops to eastablish the detail allowing the creation of IA, task models, user journeys and accompanying UI. Iterative wireframing laid the foundation for interactive prototypes, that in turn steered the work of the developers.
This UI is designed to render its layout and page elements for the optimal display for the device being used.
Case Study: Local Authority Content Design User Research
The goal of determining the most appropriate content for users’ needs through research and planning, forms the basis of content design. To this end, I conducted user research for one of the larger London local authorities, to improve their online information services.
The inverse of the GUI.2 aesthetic for users preferring dark contrast.
Case study: wireframing and prototyping
For this messaging application UI, I initially constructed the wireframes to determine the layout and hierarchy of page elements. This laid the foundation for the next stage of creating hi-fi static interactive product models.
Smartphone App: Refuse Collection
This app was designed – using bespoke icons – to enable service users to view and manage their refuse collection services. A series of screens enabled customers to engage directly with their service provider.
Case Study: Responsive Web Design and WordPress
Whether mobile-first or desktop-first, in most cases digital products should gracefully adapt to all screen shapes and sizes.
Case Study: Design Pattern Prototyping – UI slider
The requirement for a complex slider called for a complex prototype, one which would model all behaviours.
Wireframing: Smartphone App Investment Concept
This wireframe was designed for the addition of a new monthly payment feature to an existing personal finances management app.
This new feature development for a local authority mobile-first application, demonstrates how a standard desktop HTML table can be styled so that it reconfigures into a series of single item tables, much more suited to a smartphone screen.
